Genesis 3:1-3:

Take a moment to ask God to meet with you today, then reflect on these verses by reading them a few times

"Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array. By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done."

“I keep six honest serving-men (They taught me all I knew); Their names are What and Why and When And How and Where and Who. I send them over land and sea, I send them east and west; But after they have worked for me, I give them all a rest." - Rudyard Kiplin

There is a time for Passion. Vision. Action! Then there is a time for rest.

God created us in His infinite wisdom and He knows us better than we know ourselves. He built seasons and rhythms into our lives to make life manageable and also to create space for us to reflect, renew and be re-created. To get ready to launch out again for the next season of energy and accomplishment. As leaders we often feel the drive to keep going, and for a season or two we can do that. However, more often than not, as we ignore our God-given rhythms we pay the price and can lose so much of what we think we might have gained.

So today it's time to pause. After six days of looking at our Passion, Vision and Action, it's time to stop, reflect, and celebrate what God is stirring among you.

Breathe.
